Industry party 1 Aug & UNSW students assisting YTNSW
Industry party – Side Bar – 1 Aug 2025
The teams at Wake Up! and Side Bar are hosting a Friday night get-together on 1 August 2025 for the youth tourism crew – and you’re invited! Kicking off from 4pm at 509 Pitt Street, Sydney, roll into Side Bar for food, drinks and dancefloor action. It’s a fun way to bring together YTNSW members including hostel staff, tour operators and other industry mates for a catch-up, a few laughs and some well-earned end-of-week drinks. They’ve even booked a mechanical bull – because why not? Please RSVP to alex@sidebarsydney.com.au before 30 July so they can get an idea of numbers.
Uni students helping YTNSW
We’re excited to be collaborating with a team of university academics and students from UNSW who are developing integrated marketing communications plans for YTNSW as a real-life case study towards their degrees. It’s really rewarding to be nurturing the next generation of marketers in their learning journey, and we can’t wait to see the bright ideas they come up with! Thanks to YTNSW Committee members Deon Carstairs, James Oliver, Josh Mayer and Silke Kerwick who showed some of the students around YHA Sydney Harbour recently to give them a feel for the industry and an opportunity to ask questions about strategies to target more members and sponsors, and to host more varied networking events.

For 15 years, they’ve specialised in adventure travel to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Canada, and the United States. Whether traveling with family, as a couple, or solo, Dutchies will make it happen!
