BOA 2018 AGM update and Annual Report
Thank you to everyone who attended another successful BOA Annual General Meeting on Thursday afternoon.
We know you are busy legends however it really was great to see so many of you at Parliament House last week and appreciate your support at the 27th BOA AGM
A huge shout out to our speakers Phil Ventham – DNSW, Brendan McKenna – Adventure Queensland and Nick Henderson – Tourism Australia.
Also a special thanks to Allsopp Bunting, who blow us away every year with their continued support.
We would also like to welcome our new office bearers:
President Sarah Flynn – Website travel,
Vice President Emily Dormer – Mad Monkey Group Australia,
Sammy Pearse-Marmont – Hostelworld, will take on the position as Treasurer stepping down as Secretariat.
Honorary Secretary will remain, Sam Badans –YHA.
Also a big welcome to our new blood in the committee:
Liam Bogdan – Wonderlands Group
Jason Wass – GLT
Dan McConnell – Ultimate Travel.
Committee members: Mark Baldwin – Bounce, Andy Cowan – Millett Group, Katie Wilcher – Base/Nomads and Chris Braat – The Experience Co will all remain on the committee with them.
One last shout out to the amazing Alanna Stevens who stood down on Thursday as the BOA president, after serving on the BOA committee for 4 years and standing as president since 2015.
Alanna has been extremely active within the industry and took her role as President very seriously. Alanna juggles her career and family alongside her other passions such as director at Life Project Cambodia. Alanna will be dearly missed but I am sure we will continue to cross paths with her in the near future at industry events.
One last thank you, this goes to Matt Clay for being the longest standing committee member, joining the committee in September 2009, becoming Vice president in 2010 for 4 years. Matt has been a massive part of BOA for the last 9 years and his face will be missed at the committee meetings.
We hope to see at the Golf day Matt!
