As part of the prize, LACo will receive a 1-year ATEC membership, and Charles will participate in the ATEC ELITE program, including mentoring by Kristy Malapa, Industry Relations Manager and youth sector specialist at Tourism Australia. Charles will also attend ATEC Meeting Place taking place in Perth in October 2025 including participation fees, flights and accommodation! Find out more here.

Congratulations also go to the LACo crew for officially opening Little Drifter Canberra on 5 June 2025 – fantastic to have such high-quality accommodation for independent travellers in our nation’s glorious capital!

Member spotlight

Congratulations to YTNSW Committee member, Justin Steele, for winning gold in the 2025 NSW Top Tour Guide Awards (delivered by NSW Tourism Association in partnership with Tour Guides Australia, Outdoors NSW & ACT and Journey Beyond Cruise Sydney) – best of luck in the national awards too!

Meanwhile, YTNSW member Destination NSW (DNSW) will run an online workshop on 26 June 2025 from 10am to 3pm (the day of the YTNSW ball) to develop operators’ skills in creating, tailoring and delivering great, bookable visitor experiences – register here.

Also, if any youth tourism organisations can help with recruiting British, French, Korean or Japanese backpackers (including Working Holiday Makers from these two Asian countries) for some important market research commissioned by Tourism Australia, please direct them to the QR code on this poster (and they’ll get a $100 voucher for their participation if selected).
